Money as a Living Information System
for a Regenerative, Resilient Economy Aligned with Nature
The greatest mistake in economics is treating all forms of money as if they were the same.
Just as an operating system distinguishes between images, sounds, texts, and videos, a future monetary intelligence could distinguish between saving, consumption, investment, cooperation, gaming, education, and ecological restoration, applying the most appropriate monetary architecture to each function.
The Biology of Money proposes a new way of understanding money. Based on the identification and classification of more than 150 monetary types, it develops a taxonomy inspired by evolutionary biology that allows money to be understood not as a single entity, but as a set of functions capable of producing very different economic behaviours.
The Biology of Money begins with a simple idea: money is not merely a medium of exchange; it is a living information system. Inspired by the principles of nature, it proposes an economy based on circulation, diversity, cooperation, adaptation, and regeneration.
The goal is not to create a new currency, but to understand how each type of money affects communities, economies, and ecosystems.
Regeneration
Creating value by strengthening life and the resources that sustain it.
Circulation
Encouraging the productive flow of value rather than accumulation.
Diversity
Promoting resilience through a greater variety of economic solutions.
Cooperation
Promoting collaboration and the creation of shared value.
Adaptation
Developing systems capable of learning and evolving.
Because the future of money may lie in regeneration, not extraction.
